Our Apollo Discus Cage is the most revolutionary Throw Cage design and is the ultimate World Athletics Certified 9 (E-12-0695) Discus Cage with a Patented Design #9,889,366 B2 for use in Stadiums, Top-Level Competitions, Clubs and Schools. Our Apollo Cage was designed by Trevor Bowman, the founder of Play Hard Sports Equipment, and is fabricated in our Factory on the Gold Coast, Australia
The Apollo Cage has been specifically designed to feature a 3-pole Aluminium and Galvanised Support System (structurally certified by Engineers) where the posts are outward-facing, as this design creates much less of a chance for the discus to come in contact with the net or support poles and avoids any damage to the structure (reducing ongoing maintenance costs). Along with this feature, the simplistic yet durable design greatly improves the visibility of the thrower for spectators, while also showcasing an unobtrusive look when the Apollo isn’t in use.
- 3m x 6m High Front Netting
- 4m High Perimeter Netting
- 7m Forward from the Circle Centre
Installation
The installation process has also been simplified greatly as the Apollo’s Support Poles are fixed to Hinged Bases which makes it easy to raise the poles into position and feature a pulley system to attach the 8 retaining ropes that are then anchored to the ground.
The Apollo Cage has been safety tested and has a 115km/h Wind Rating with the net erected. The netting can also be lowered if required by using the integrated rope and pulley system, as the net is attached to rails which then connect to the pole ropes for easy raising. The ropes are then tied off to cleats which are situated on each pole for easy access.
